"It has been a real joy to be able to find harmony in my career" reflects Long. Long has reached a series of balances in his profession and his life. He has found a way to be both professional and compassionate, competitive and low-key, a dedicated REALTOR and a dedicated father. Long and his wife, Tam settled in Walnut Creek after graduating from Saint Mary's College in Moraga. He got his first taste of real estate in 1998 when he and Tam bought their first house. Long had done a lot of research and wanted to share that knowledge with his friends because he believes that homeownership is a valuable experience. "If you have the right person telling you the right thing, buying a house can be a huge positive step forward in life", Long believes. Once Long got his real estate license in 2002, he immediately jumped in with two feet and got to work. Long was an immediate success, earning the coveted Double Centurion Award in his first year of business. It was all uphill from there. Much of Long's success is due to his skills in negotiating and networking. He became involved with several professional organizations, particularly Contra Costa Realtors in Motion which meets every Tuesday to share resources, stories and experiences. Long is currently the President of CCRIM (Contra Costa Realtor in Motion).
Long knows that on any given day he’s capable of accomplishing something special; it’s the way he looks at life. "Anything is possible," Long says. "I learned that a long time ago, and it impacts everything that I do."
